Chinatown is so fabulous for photography. Both street photography and urban landscapes. It has retained much of it’s look over the years. You won’t see many major businesses there. I never tire of photographing it. I have an upcoming workshop in Chinatown and I also do private photo tours there as well. This photo was taken during a street photography workshop
“Great photo tour and great way to know my city. I’ve been living in NY for the last 10 years, and really into street photography. Leanne introduced me to a part of the city that I’ve never seen before. It was a fun tour with a lot of great photo ops. I’m definitely going to take more of her tours, nice to be a tourist in my own city.” – Michal, New York City. https://www.shootnewyorkcity.com/reviews/2017/2/28/review-by-michal-new-york-city
Here’s another photo from the Bushwick Street Art & Creative Photography Workshop! This photo was taken using intentional camera movement. I haven’t yet planned another Creative Photography Workshop. In the meantime I do have a number of Street Photography Workshops scheduled. By the way, you can see some photos from other attendees in the Shoot New York City Facebook Group.
We had a fabulous day today in Bushwick, Brooklyn for the Street Art and Creative Photography Workshop! I took a ton of photos! Creative photography is just as much about having fun as it is about creating great photos! It’s about experimenting and doing things with your camera which you might not of thought about doing. And also about seeing things in a different way. I have 3 upcoming Street Photography Workshops. I will perhaps have another Creative Photography Workshop in March or April.
“I had such a great experience attending Leanne’s street photography workshop in Chinatown. I feel like I learned how to use my eyes in a fresh, new way. It was such an eye-opening, intimate view of a part of the city that I had never explored before. Leanne knows Chinatown and was so great at pointing out hidden gems and stunning backdrops. I really enjoyed and appreciated her guidance and individual attention even within a group. She is friendly with a very down-to-earth approach. Leanne was patient, insightful and encouraging and I never felt rushed. I’m so pleased with the images I captured on that day. I highly recommend Leanne’s workshops and I plan on taking more in the future. “What a great way to tour NYC! I decided to sign up for Shoot New York City to get me out in the streets of New York and start doing what I love “for fun”, taking photos. Whether you are a professional photographer, an amateur, or simply a tourist, I highly recommend spending a few hours with Leanne. Knowledgeable, generous and just plain cool! When I travel to other cities I will now look for similar shooting tours. I can’t wait to sign up for another one with my teenage daughter. With Gratitude Leanne!” – Tracey, Long Island, New York. https://www.shootnewyorkcity.com/reviews/2017/2/24/review-by-tracey-long-island-new-york
“Learn from the best! Leanne provides a unique perspective on the art form of street photography. She provides an insight into the history of each location and neighborhood, you will not find a better way to mix art and history while visiting these rich streets of NYC. Her tour is perfect for photographers of all levels as she helps you see the world from a different vantage point. Don’t miss this opportunity to spend time with real New Yorkers! Best tour I have ever taken.” Karen, Long Island, New York. https://www.shootnewyorkcity.com/reviews/2017/2/23/review-by-karen-long-island-new-york
The next Chinatown Street Photography Workshop is on Sunday 5 March. Chinatown is one of the very few neighborhoods in New York City that has not undergone gentrification. It is fabulous for street photography and urban landscapes. We meander through the backstreets beyond the touristy part of the neighborhood. We discuss photography, cameras, techniques, street photography and New York City AND we have a great time doing it too! The workshop is limited to 6 people so don’t wait to register!
There are so many cool little restaurants in New York City! I’ve been to Pedro’s in Dumbo (down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass) a few times. Fabulous atmosphere and food. Oh, and it’s not expensive. I have a tour which includes the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge Park and Dumbo and we always capture some fabulous photos of the Manhattan skyline from there. There’s so much to explore in New York City and I always tailor my tours to your interests both photographically and for the different neighborhoods.
