Review by Drew, Saskatoon, Canada

“Street Photography with Leanne Staples – I have great hopes of becoming a better photographer than I am. I recently had the pleasure of doing a solo street shoot of Harlem and El Barrio with Leanne. I had a great afternoon and learned a lot about both NYC and street photography. This was an excellent opportunity.” – Drew, Saskatoon, Canada. https://www.shootnewyorkcity.com/reviews/2017/5/25/review-by-drew-saskatoon-canadaHarlem Derby Day

Harlem 125th Street

125th Street is one of the main streets in Harlem. It’s a fabulous neighborhood. It’s great for street photography and the people are friendly. New Yorkers are often so distracted with their digital devices and getting to where they’re going that they often don’t even notice you taking their photo. When they do notice, they’re usually happy. If you want to explore Harlem with a camera and do street photography, I have a workshop coming up on 4 June and you can register for it online here. You can also schedule a photo tour of Harlem if you prefer a one-on-one approach. – Photo, Harlem 125th Street, 23 May 2017, on photo tour. https://www.shootnewyorkcity.com/blog/2017/5/24/harlem-125th-streetHarlem 125th Street-2

On Prince Street

New York City is such a fabulous city for street photography! I never tire of shooting street photography. It’s always different. It’s always new. This photo was taken during a photo tour of the lower East Side and Chinatown. My tours cover most of the city and are customized to your interests. You can see reviews of previous tours and workshops on my site. Photo tours are one-on-one and are a combination of exploring neighborhoods and photography at the same time. – On Prince Street, 24 March 2017.On Prince Street.jpg

On St Mark’s

St. Mark’s Place in the East Village. Oh the stories of what this neighborhood once was! The music and art scene when you could be a poor starving artist in New York City. Things have changed quite a bit but it has retained some of its old charm. Photo taken on a photo tour 21 March 2017.On St Mark's.jpg

Canal Street

Chinatown street photography during a photo tour. When people go to Chinatown they tend to go to the more touristy parts of it. Manhattan’s Chinatown is very big and I like to get back into it. That said, this photo was taken on the very busy Canal Street. Always something to photograph! – 21 November 2016.Canal Street
