Happy Lunar New Year

Chinatown in Manhattan has been a favorite neighborhood to shoot, eat and just hang out in! I’m going through my photo library and digging up photos from the past that I’ve never processed or posted before or just ones that I forgot about. Here’s one from 2016. Check out my upcoming workshops in Chinatown and other neighborhoods.

2 announcements!

One, if you’re in New York City, you can see 9 of my street photos covering the windows at 600 Madison Avenue. They are larger than life and a real thrill to see them on the streets like an outdoor gallery.

Two, this blog is moving to my site. You can see my posts at Shoot New York City News. So I won’t be here very often. Thanks!

Visual Rhyming

It’s fabulous to capture what I call visual rhyming in street photography. That is when a person matches their background. In this instance it’s the color yellow. It could also be a number of other things like stripes.

There are a few upcoming street photography workshops scheduled. A maximum of 3 people per workshop so everyone gets one-on-one as well as group instruction.

Everyone wears a mask and we have a great time capturing street photos. Register online.

Street Photography is big

Street photography is a big genre, There are many different methods and styles. We explore many of them during a workshop. Workshops are good for all levels of experience. And there is more hands on one-on-one guidance than most workshops.

The City Looks Different

The pandemic has changed the look and feel of the city. It has provided an opportunity to take a different kind of street photos. It is about seeing with new eyes.
